Green Beans Curry (Serves 4)

Tasty treat for people that enjoy veggies. Best with buttered white bread.


½ Kg Green Beans (Cleaned and sliced lengthwise)
3 Tablespoon Oil
½ Teaspoon Jeera Seeds (Cumin)
2 Green Chillies
½ Onion (Finely Chopped)
2 Medium Tomatoes (Chopped)
Curry Leaves (5 to 6 leaves for flavour)
¼ Teaspoon Tumeric Powder
3 Teaspoon Chilli Powder
Salt to Taste
50 to 75 ml Water.


Heat oil in pot. Add Jeera seeds, onion green chillies and tumeric powder. Allow onion to sauté until lightly browned, then add tomatoes, chilli powder, salt and curry leaves. Allow mixture to braise for 2 to 3 minutes, then add green beans and water and mix well. Cook for 20 to 25 minutes on medium to low heat.
(Garnish with Dhania (Coriander) – Optional.)
