Decapitated Woman’s Head Found

According to the police, the head of the decapitated woman Desiree Murugun whose body was found in the Shallcross Stadium, has been found. Police have also arrested six suspects in connection with the gruesome murder. Investigators worked around the clock and managed to detain the six suspects on Thursday August 21, 2014. The missing head was located in Imfume on the South Coast, and the six suspects apprehended including a female traditional healer. The suspects will appear in the Chatsworth Magistrates court today.
The woman’s decapitated body was found a week ago by municipal workers at the Shallcross Stadium. She was found naked below her waist, and is alleged to have been a Sex worker in the area.
Provincial Commissioner of KwaZulu-Natal, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni, had this to say: “I want to congratulate detectives at Chatsworth SAPS for breaking open this case so swiftly. It is shocking that a woman has been killed in such a barbaric manner while we are celebrating Women’s Month. It is even more disturbing that a woman was involved in this brutal murder. We will ensure that we do everything that is within our own control to bring the culprits to book.”
